STATESBORO, Georgia, Dec. 5, 2009 - JamesWorks Entertainment has completed production on The Car Wash, a new short film from award-winning documentary filmmaker James Kicklighter,
starring Edith Ivey (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button).
The project was be filmed in Statesboro on November 12th and 13th, fulfilling Kicklighter’s requirements for an Advanced Digital Filmmaking Class at Georgia Southern University. The film profiles the modern state of communication.
“I’m ecstatic that Ms. Ivey lead the cast. She brought a wealth of knowledge and depth to the role that only a veteran actress of film, stage, and radio can deliver,” said Kicklighter. "Aside from her contributions, we were very fortunate to have a talented cast and crew that has worked very hard to deliver a great film."
Earlier this year, Kicklighter and Ivey collaborated on Theater of the Mind, a documentary about the Golden Age of Radio. It debuted in April at the BEA Festival at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, and will be making the festival circuit in 2010.
This film will mark the third JamesWorks production in 2009, after completing principle photography on Land of Higher Peace in Ethiopia on October 15th.
