Process
James reads the brief, then asks for the unwritten brief. Every campaign has one. It is what the team actually wants to make if the constraints were softer, the budget bigger, and the brand more confident. The unwritten brief is usually closer to the truth than the written one. The job of the director is to find the version of the work that honors the unwritten brief while delivering on the written one.
