Briana Evigan
This is the offer letter I wrote to Briana Evigan for the role of Michelle. I sent it directly through our casting director, Jessica Sherman, because Jessica wanted her to understand why this part existed and why I believed she was right for it.
The letter starts with where I'm from. South Georgia shaped how I see the kind of marriage Michelle is trapped inside, and I wasn't going to pretend that context didn't matter. From there, it lays out what Michelle actually is on the page: a woman performing a version of herself that her husband built, who finds her only honest moments inside a strip club VIP room with a man who treats the chair like a therapist's couch.
What someone reading this should pay attention to is the argument. I'm not selling Briana on a role. I'm telling her what the film is trying to do and asking whether she wants to do it with me. The Jessica Chastain reference wasn't decoration. It was the through-line.
Briana said yes. That's why this letter is on the project page. It's a record of how the casting actually happened, which is rarer than people think.
